  • Book A Librarian Appointment - We are here to help! Fill out the linked form, or call or visit your branch library for help submitting the form, and staff from the Information Services Department will reach out to schedule a session for more in-depth assistance.
  • Washington County American Job Center - Located in downtown Hagerstown, this American Job Center location provides a number of services for job seekers and businesses, such as job seeker orientation, training opportunities, and technology to support your search.
  • Western Maryland Consortium - Located in downtown Hagerstown, this workforce alliance organization and American Job Center partner provides services for job seekers, like interview preparation, and for businesses, like new employee training reimbursement programs.

  • Maryland Workforce Exchange - Access job searches, labor market updates, and other tools through the Maryland Department of Labor's Workforce Exchange website or the MWEJOBS app.
  • Maryland Unemployment Insurance- Access information about temporary financial assistance to qualified individuals through the Maryland Department of Labor's Unemployment Insurance website and BEACON Portal.

  • In addition to looking for open positions through sites like Indeed, LinkedIn, Career Builder, Monster, and SnagAJob, visit the websites for local companies and businesses in fields or industries of interest.
  • Federal Jobs - USAJobs.gov lists federal jobs and provides information about the hiring process for federal jobs.
  • State Jobs - The State of Maryland's Online Employment Center includes open positions, recruitments, and other opportunities.
  • State of Maryland Electronic Licensing & Online Forms - Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation handles licensing for 24 occupations and professions, including cosmetologists, home improvement contractors, and more.
