The Fletcher Branch Library Young Adult Department proudly presents Washington County Free Library Comic Con: Imagine Your Story! Join us on Saturday, August 1 from 10:30 AM-1:30 PM!

The 2020 edition will be a virtual event presented via Facebook Live through
the Washington County Free Library Comic Con page


Our event features presentations by:

 nationally-known (Marvel, DC, Netflix, and more) comics author Amy Chu,

 Chu started making comics in 2011 and has been full-time writing stories since 2016 when DC Comics hired her for Poison Ivy's first solo series. She has written a variety of comics, two middle grade graphic novels (including one with presenter Janet K. Lee!), and writes and produces comics for nonprofits such as the New York Historical Society. Amy Chu is a freqeunt panelist at San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, and other major industry events!

 Lee made her first foray into illustration in 2010 as co-creator of "Return of the Dapper Men," which garnered a record-setting five Eisner nominations (winning the award for Best New Graphic Album). Lee went on the illustrate Marvel Comics adaptations of Jane Austen's Emma and Northanger Abbey, as well as six other books and anthologies. A sequel to "Return of the Dapper Man" is in the works. Lee remains active in her local art community and teaches comics workshops in partnership with her local library.
