2017 brings a new line-up of computer classes to WCFL! We are offering classes in our Computer Lab, as well as additional sessions from Sprint. Keep checking back for more!
Open Email Lab
Thursday, January 19th, 2:00-4:00PM & Tuesday, February 21st, 2:00-4:00PM
Have a question about your e-mail? Whether it's Gmail, Yahoo, or another e-mail service, bring your questions to our open e-mail lab for help. No registration required, however it is first-come, first-served/rotating seating due to space limitations.
Intro to Computers
Wednesday, March 8th, 2:00-4:00PM & Wednesday, April 12th, 2:00-4:00PM
This class will introduce computers to first-time computer users. In the class we discuss basic computer principles including computer hardware and software, how to turn on and operate your computer. Includes instruction and practice using a mouse and keyboard.
Intro to Microsoft Word
Monday, March 20th, 6:30-8:00PM
This class is an introduction to Microsoft Word. Learn how to create, save and print word processing documents, including using editing shortcuts, checking spelling and grammar and using the Word toolbars.
Stuff In Your Attic
Wednesday, March 22nd, 6:00PM & Wednesday, April 26th, 2:00PM
This class will teach you how to shop using the world’s largest auction website. Learn how to find and bid on items in eBay as well as how to list an item for sale and get it noticed.
Internet Basics & Safety
Tuesday, March 28th, 2:00-4:00PM
In this class, participants will learn the basics of web navigation. Topics include web browsers and navigation, beginner web searching, as well as web safety including deleting your cache and keeping your searches private.
Thursday, March 30th, 6:00-8:00PM
Attendees will learn basic Excel skills that are good for everyday use. These will include Excel terminology, how to navigate a spreadsheet, basic formatting skills and a few formulas.
Reliable Online Health Resources
Tuesday, April 4th, 2:00PM
Many people head to Google to research their health problems. Let us help you sort out good results from bad, and locate reliable place to go for your health info on the web.
Online Job Search Basics

Is searching for a job online a bit of a mystery? Frustrated about the lack of paper applications nowadays? Not sure where to go to create a resume? Look no further! In this class we will cover all of the basics of how to search for and apply for jobs on the Internet.

Computer Class Registration Information:
Registrations for Spring 2017 Computer Classes will begin three weeks prior to the class date for each course. Registration is required for each individual class you wish to attend. Sign-up online through our Event Calendar or by calling 301-739-3250, ext. 300. Seating is limited, so please take a moment to review our Attendance Policy.
